Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of crackers made from daun gamal (Gliricidia sepium) and daun lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala) leaves on the in vivo digestibility of sheep. The research was conducted at the State Polytechnic of Jember using 12 male sheep divided into four treatments: P0 (control without daun gamal and daun lamtoro), P1 (daun lamtoro crackers), P2 (daun gamal crackers), and P3 (combination of daun gamal and daun lamtoro crackers). Observed parameters included feed intake, dry matter digestibility (DMD), and organic matter digestibility (OMD). The results showed that the addition of daun gamal and daun lamtoro crackers had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed intake, DMD, or OMD. Although not statistically significant, treatment P3 yielded the highest average values across all parameters. These findings suggest that daun gamal and daun lamtoro-based crackers have potential as alternative feed sources, although further studies with physiologically mature sheep are recommended.
