Abstract

The nutritional status of infants aged 0-6 months is a physical condition (body) infants aged 0-6 months. Infancy is a crucial time in the life cycle, especially at the age of 0-6 months because at this time the baby entered a period of growth and development. The most ideal food is mother's milk (ASI). Nutrient intake in nursing mothers, determine the baby's nutrition. Nutrients breastfeeding is very important because it deals with maternal and child health. Caloric needs of the mother during breastfeeding is proportional to the amount of milk produced and higher during lactation than during pregnancy. Breastfeeding mothers and babies included into the nutrition of vulnerable groups. Nutrition vulnerable groups are groups of people most likely to suffer from nutritional disorders, if a society affected by shortage of supply of foodstuffs. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between food intake by nursing mothers nutritional status of infants 0-6 months in the district of Jember Patrang. The research method is analytic survey with cross sectional approach. Subjects were 81 nursing mothers and infants 0-6 months. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data analysis using Spearman's rank correlation test. The results showed that there is a significant correlation between the level of energy consumption (p = 0.001) and protein (p = 0.002) with the nutritional status of infants 0-6 months. It is suggested for further research to investigate other variables that affect food intake breastfeeding mothers with infant nutritional status.
