Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and compare the nutrient content of three types of plants, namely maize (Zea mays), green beans (Vigna radiata) and paddy (Oryza sativa) cultivated using a hydroponic system. The stages in this study are seed preparation, seed soaking, seed spreading, maintenance, harvesting, sample preparation, analysis of crude protein, crude fiber, ADF, NDF, and TDN. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a one-way treatment pattern covering 3 types of plants, each of which was repeated 6 times. If there was a significant difference (P <0.05), it was continued with further testing using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The parameters observed in this study were crude protein, crude fiber, TDN, ADF and NDF. The results showed that the type of plant had a significant effect (P <0.05) on nutrient content. Green fodder of green beans showed the highest crude protein content (45.91%). Maize green fodder has lowest crude fiber content (12.27%), lowest ADF (15.38) and NDF (31.38%) and the highest TDN (79.08%). The conclusion of this study shows that maize green fodder is a plant that has the best nutrient content.
