Abstract

Childhood malnutrition is a significant issue in Indonesia, particularly among children under the age of five. The government is concerned about this problem because it affects the overall health and development of individuals. To detect early signs of malnutrition in children under five, efforts have been made through Community Resource Health Efforts (UKBM). One of these efforts involves setting up integrated health posts, where integrated health post cadres work as implementers. The research will analyze how training affects the skills of the staff in identifying the nutritional status of toddlers in Menampu Village, Gumukmas District, and Jember Regency. This research uses a pre-experimental method with a quantitative approach and a one-group pre- and post-test research design. The study involved 75 integrated health post cadres from Menampu Village, Gumukmas District, Jember Regency. Out of these, 33 were accessible for the study, and 30 were selected as respondents. This research instrument utilizes an observation sheet to assess integrated health post-cavalry skills. Paired trials in this study used the Wilcoxon test. The results indicate that the training had an impact on the ability of health workers to identify nutritional status, with a statistically significant p-value of 0.000. Training is a short-term educational process that employs systematic and organized procedures to transfer knowledge and skills.
