Abstract

Diarrheal disease is an endemic disease and also a disease that has the potential for Extraordinary Events (KLB) accompanied by death. Diarrheal disease can occur in all circles, especially in elementary school-age children due to poor hygine and sanitation practices. In addition to pre-gecko hygine and poor sanitation are applied, another factor that can cause diarrheal disease is the lack of student knowledge about diarrheal diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to have health interventions through important health education, which will be more effective with the presence of appropriate and interesting media so that the material will be more acceptable. The purpose of this research was to develop an audio visual media in the form of animated video as an education about diarrheal disease in elementary school age children at SDN Sumbersari 01 Jember. This research uses Research and Development (R&D) using design (ADDIE) namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Research instruments used in the form of questionnaires and media assessment questionnaires. Questionnaires are used to collect information and determine problems and questionnaires are used to obtain assessments of the media created. This research uses qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. Qualitative data in the form of criticism and suggestions from validators that will be used as product improvement materials. Quantitative data in the form of assessment results from material experts and media experts. The results of the assessment of material experts are stage I 82%, and stage II 94%, while the results of media expert assessment are stage I 84% and stage II 90%. The conclusion obtained is an audio visual media in the form of an animated video about diarrheal disease that will be given to elementary school-age children worthy of being used as an educational medium.
