Abstract

RBL toddlers is a toddler who suffering from nutritional problems based on weight for age (W/A) caused by several factors such as food intake, infectious diseases, food availability, parenting, and health services. The prevalence of RBL at Jember in 2015 amounted to 2,24% and 2,90% Jember Kidul community health center, while the target of Jember Health Department is 2,20%. This research aims to determine the correlation between the feeding status and the presence of the mother in Toddler Class with weight change RBL toddlers. This research was conducted during April-December 2016 in Jember Kidul community health center. This research method is observational method with cross sectional approach toward population of 82 RBL toddlers. The sample size in this research 51 RBL toddlers with a simple random sampling techniques. The independent variables are the feeding status and the mother's presence in the Toddler Class. The dependent variable is the change in weight RBL toddlers. Feeding status, mother's presence in Class Toddlers and weight changes data obtained from secondary Jember Kidul community health center data. Instrument that used is respondents characteristics sheet. Data were collected through interviews about the respondents characteristics. Statistical analysis using SPSS 21 with Somers'd correlation test. The results showed each variable has a value of p= 0.01 and 0,048 and includes strong and very weak correlations. There is a correlation between the feeding status and the presence of the mother in Toddler Class with weight change RBL toddlers. All RBL’s mother are expected to attend class in order to RBL problems can be solved.
