Abstract

My final project was Developing a Guidebook of The Extreme Sports in Banyuwangi with entitled “Challenge Your Adrenaline with Extreme Sports in Banyuwangi” in bilingual version. This project was done based on data collecting method that I conducted in Culture and Tourism Department of Banyuwangi related with the content of the guidebook. This project focused on four potential sport tourism objects in Banyuwangi, those are Rafting and Tubing, Skateboarding, BMX and Surfing. The existing promotion media in Culture and Tourism Department of Banyuwangi, does not has complete information of extreme sport tourism. For that reason, I decided to developing a tourism guidebook in bilingual version and provide more detail information of tourism objects. In designing the product, I adapted the procedure of making guidebook from Aprilia (2009). I also hired a designer who is expert in designing tourism guidebook for make a design. I will make a tourism guidebook in bilingual version printed by A5 art paper, consist 60 until 70 pages. In conducting this final project, the designer used adobe photoshop CS6 to design the layout, background and the script position. I applied my language skills that I got in English Study Program to translate this guidebook from Indonesian to English and also got new knowledge and experiences in developing a guidebook. I want to dedicate my knowledge to develop sport tourism objects in Banyuwangi and I do hope this guidebook can help Culture and Tourism Department of Banyuwangi as media promotion to the public.
