Abstract

Ayam kampung super is a cross between a local rooster with a laying chicken. “Super” it’s mean “sudah persilangan” (breed cross/hybrid). Native chicken production was still need feed management. The aim of this research is effect of feed protein level on the percentage of carcass and commercial retail cut. This research used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) one way with 4 treatments using crude protein 16%, 18%, 20%, 22% and 5 replications. The results showed that the feed of protein levels was not significant (P <0,05) on the percentage of carcass, chest, wings, and thighs. While the percentage of retail cut back native chicken very significantly (P> 0,01). Native chicken production need to consider the balance between protein and energy for optimal growth rate.
