Abstract

Inpatients or bedrest patients required special measurements to determine height. The function of height measurement is to determine the patient's nutritional condition in the past and in the present. Height measurements can be switched by knee height measurements using a caliper knee height tool. Knee height tool generally have a very big size and is quite heavy, which makes it difficult for nutritionists to use. Knee height tools need to be modified to facilitate nutritionists in carrying out tools, measurement and storage processes. The purpose of the knee height tool modification is to determine the level of practicality of the tool and of accuracy in the measurement results. this study used the RnD (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE model. The instruments used in this study were validation assessment poll and subject assessment questionnaire. The study was conducted at the RSUD dr. Soebandi Jember. The research subject was a media validator with 1 validator and 11 nutritionists. The process was carried out from December 2018 to January 2019. This development research used two data analysis techniques, namely, qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. Qualitative data was the result of analysis interview of the need for developing tools while quantitative data are poll assessment scores from validators and questionnaire assessment scores from nutritionists. Based on the results of media validation, it was obtained the percentage as much as 81.5% with very good categories. The results of the trial of a small group of knee height modification tools at RSUD dr. Soebandi Jember was as much as 78.73% which categorized is knee height modification tools is appropriate to be use by healthy workers especially nutritionists.
