Abstract

Anemia in adolescent girls is a health problem that is the focus of the Indonesian government (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2021). Riskesdas data in 2013 contained data on anemia of 37.1% of adolescent girls, then this increased in 2018 to 48.9%. The risk of anemia among young women in Jember Regency in 2019 was 8.6%. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between consumption of animal protein and blood supplement tablets with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls at State Junior High School 1 Tanggul, Jember Regency. This research uses an analytical observational type of research with a cross sectional design. The respondents in this study were 104 young women, who were selected using simple random sampling. Data collection in this study used hemoglobin check results, 24-hour recall results for 3 days, and additional filling in of the blood tablet questionnaire. Statistical analysis in this study used the Chi - Square Test in SPSS version 26. The results of the statistical test obtained p = 0.027 < (0.05) which means there is a significant relationship between protein intake and the incidence of anemia in young women and the result obtained was p = 0.030 = (<0.05) which means there is a relationship between the consumption of blood supplement tablets and the incidence of anemia in young women at SMPN 1 Tanggul.
