Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of fermented papaya leaves on the carcass quality of super free-range chicken. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) experimental method, with 4 treatments each treatment consisted of 5 replications and each treatment contained 5 super free-range chickens. The treatments given were: P0 (control feed), P1 (control feed + 2% fermented papaya leaves), P2 (control feed + 4% fermented papaya leaves), and P3 (control feed + 6% fermented papaya leaves). Parameters observed included carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat percentage and digestive tract weight. The results showed that the addition of fermented papaya leaves to feed at P1 (2%), P2 (4%) and P3 (6%) had no significant effect on carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat percentage and digestive tract weight of super free-range chickens. The conclusion of this study was the addition of fermented papaya leaves to feed with P3 treatment (6%) was the best treatment in terms of carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat percentage and gastrointestinal weight.
