Abstract
Returning the medical record file is an activity of returning the medical record file to the medical record unit after the patient returns. Delay in returning the inpatient medical record file is often found in the organization of medical records. The deadline for returning the inpatient medical record file at RSU Dr. H. Koesnadi Bondowoso that is 3x24 hours after the patient returns. Delay data conducted in the initial survey in June 2018 reached 29.00%. The purpose of this study was to develop a strategy to make late repayment of inpatient medical records at Dr. RSU Hospital. H. Koesnadi Bondowoso. This research is a qualitative research using PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) method. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation and brainstorming. Based on the research, the results show that the factors causing the delay in returning the inpatient medical record file are the lack of staff knowledge about SOP, and SOP socialization has never been held. So that the improvement strategy undertaken is to revise SOP and periodic socialization of SOP.
