Abstract

Kemuning Lor Village is one of the main tourist villages located on the slopes of Mount Argopuro Rembangan, Arjasa, Jember District, with the main commodity of dairy cow’s milk. Nevertheless, the utilization of fresh milk for other processed products in Rayap, Kemuning Lor Village, Arjasa District is still poorly developed. Unprocessed cow's milk is prone to spoil, therefore efforts are required to increase shelf life and the functional value of fresh cow's milk by processing it into dairy-based processed products. One of the dairy products that have many nutrients and benefits is yogurt. The nutritional content of yogurt, especially protein and calcium can supply nutritional needs. Nutrition is needed in every life cycle, starting with adults, children, and babies. The period of the first 1000 days of life (HPK) starting from the gestation phase until the first two years of life is considered a critical period, because growth and development occur very quickly during this period. This community service is carried out to improve skills through training in processing milk into yogurt. This activity involved PKK members in Kemuning Lor Village and from universities, namely lecturers as companions for the activity and assisted by two students. Outcomes achieved from this service include improving yogurt-making skills.
