Abstract
Smoking is one of health problems in Indonesia. The results of the Riskesdas survey in 2018, the prevalence of smokers in Indonesia has always increased every year. In addition, the circulating assumptions among heavy workers, especially brick making workers in Wringinputih Village about smoking can provide energy even without eating. The purpose of this study is to study the correlation between smoking habits with eating frequency and energy consumption levels in brick making workers. This study is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design. This research is conducted in the Wringinputih Village Muncar Sub-District. The number of subjects in this study are 42 people. This study uses a simple random sampling technique using lottery. Data on smoking habits and eating frequency obtain using a questionnaire, while data on energy consumption levels obtain from interviews of Recall 24 hours then compared to AKG. Analysis of the data is use Chi-Square test. The results of the analysis showed that there is a correlation between smoking habits with eating frequency and energy consumption level in brick making workers (p-value = 0.028 and p-value = 0.001). Conclusions about this study is thereis a correlation between smoking habits with eating frequency and energy consumption level.
