Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of Azolla pinnata and Spirulina platensis flour on the production performance of laying quails. The material in this study used 54 laying quails with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method of 3 treatments and 6 replications and each replication consisted of 3 laying quails. The treatments used were P0 = feed without the addition of Azolla pinnata and spirulina, P1 = with the addition of 10% Azolla pinnata, and P2 = with the addition of 10% Azolla pinnata and 0.1% Spirulina platensis. The parameters in this study were feed consumption, feed conversion, egg production, and egg weight. The research data were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test and if there was a significant difference (P <0.05) then further testing was carried out using the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the addition of Azolla pinnata and Spirulina had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), egg production, and egg weight. The conclusion of this study is that the use of 10% Azolla pinnata and 0.1% Spirulina platensis has not been able to improve the production performance of laying quail.
