Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of adding sembukan leaf flour (Paederia foetida) to feed on the performance and income over feed cost (OFC) of broiler chickens. The material used was 200 broiler chickens that were reared until they were five weeks old. This research was conducted using an experimental method with a completely randomized design with a unidirectional pattern consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were PO=commercial feed (control), PI= commercial feed +1% sembukan leaf flour, P2 commercial feed 3% sembukan leaf flour, and P3 = commercial feed + 5% sembukan leaf flour. The parameters observed were feed consumption, body weight gain. feed conversion, and income over feed cost (IOFC). The data analyzed using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA), if there are significant differences then it will be continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the addition of sembukan leaf flour in feed had a significant effect (P<0.05) on feed consumption and feed conversion, but was not significantly different (P>0.05) on body weight gain and IOFC. The conclusion from the results of this research is that the use of sembukan leaf flour in feed up to a level of 5% can produce the lowest feed consumption and optimal body weight so that the feed conversion produced is the lowest so that income over feed cost income for broiler chickens increases Keywords: Broiler Chickens, Sembukan Leaf Meal, Performance, Income Over Feed Cost
