Abstract

Knowledge and attitude is very important domain for the formation of a person’s action,especially to moms of infants aged 6012 months. Malnutrition in infants and children caused by the wrong habit for giving breast milk complementary food. Additionally mothers were unaware that babies aged after 6 month of after exclusive breast feeding because that age the baby’s nutritions were still fulfilled by breasfeeding. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation of the mother’s knowledge and attitudes in giving the breast milk complementary food on the nutritional status of the babies aged 6-12 month and differentiate the nutritional status of the baby with given instat breast milk complementary food and non instant breast milk complementary food. The respondents are 115 children aged 6-12 months who choosen by the technique Non-Probabilty Sampling tipe Proportionate Random Sampling. The results of the analysis mother’s knowledge of the nutritional status infants demonstrated an association (p = 0,000) and analysis of attitudes towards infant nutrition status showed (p = 0,000). The conclusion of this study, there is relation of mother’s knowladge and attitude in giving the breast milk complementary food on the nutritional status of the babies aged 6-12 month
