Abstract

ABSTRACT Jember Regency is one of the largest tobacco producing areas in East Java Province. As the largest tobacco producing province, this cannot be separated from the quality of the tobacco itself. Virginia tobacco is the main raw material for the Indonesian cigarette industry, mainly used for the manufacture of white cigarettes. Domestic virginia tobacco production reaches 59,385 tons / year. There are 5 grades and 32 criteria collected in this study which have been adjusted to the quality standards that exist in PT. Mangli Djaya Raya. The data is then implemented into a quality expert system for determining the quality of FCV (Flue-Cured Virginia) tobacco using the Certainty Factor method, and proven to be 100% valid as inspected by Lead Lea Production and has also been accepted by PT. Mangli Djaya Raya percentage 100% because it helps the accuracy of the equalization in determining the quality of tobacco.
