Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a type of horticultural commodity that has a source of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and is believed to lower blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Foliar fertilizer with different concentrations and different spraying time intervals, and to determine the interaction of the two treatments on the growth and yield of cucumber plants. This research was conducted from February to April 2021 on the land of the Jember State Polytechnic located in Sumbersari District, Jember Regency, East Java. . The experimental design in this study was a factorial randomized complete block design (RCBD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the concentration of Foliar fertilizer which consisted of 2 levels, namely (P1) 1 gram/liter of water and (P2) 2 grams/liter of water. The second factor is the interval of time of spraying which consists of 2 levels, namely (I1) every 7 days and (I2) every 10 days. Data were analyzed using ANOVA levels of 5% and 1%, further tested with BNT levels of 5%. The results showed that the concentration treatment P1 had a very significant effect (**) on the parameters of flowering age with an average of 23.98 days, fruit length with an average of 24.99 cm, fruit weight with an average of 631.74 grams, seed weight with an average of 7.90 grams and seed production per hectare with an average 329.17 kg, then gave no significant effect (ns) on plant length and germination parameters. The time interval treatment of Foliar fertilizer spraying gave no significant effect (ns) on all parameters. Then there is no significant interaction (ns) between the concentration treatment and the time interval of spraying no effect. Key words : Foliar fertilizer, time spraying, Cucumber
