Abstract
This study aims to find out the effect of adding the Saccharomyces cerevisiae to feed on ammonia gas production in hybrid duck houses. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a type of probiotic yeast known to help reduce ammonia gas production in poultry. The study was carried out at the State Polytechnic of Jember, Sumbersari District, Jember Regency, using 20 hybrid ducks. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 repetitions. Each treatment consisted of 5 hybrid ducks aged 16 weeks. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and if there were significant differences (P<0.05), the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test was conducted. The treatments given were P0 (control without probiotic), P1 (probiotic 0.5 grams/kg), P2 (probiotic 1 gram/kg), and P3 (probiotic 1.5 grams/kg) with the addition of Saccharomyces cerevisiae probiotic in the feed. The parameters observed Ammonia (NH3) levels, consumption, and body weight. The results of the variance analysis showed a significant effect. Based on these results, it was concluded that giving the probiotic Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a strategy to reduce ammonia emissions but has not been able to significantly increase body weight gain.
