Abstract
Chili plant productivity in Indonesia remains relatively low due to plant diseases such as anthracnose, fusarium wilt, and fruit rot. The main problem faced by farmers is the limited knowledge in accurately and quickly identifying diseases, resulting in frequent errors in the selection and application of pesticides or fungicides. This study aims to design and develop a Rule-Based expert system supported by the Weighted Product (WP) method to assist farmers in diagnosing plant diseases and obtaining appropriate agricultural medicine recommendations. The Rule-Based method is used to determine potential diseases based on symptoms entered by users, while the Weighted Product method is applied to calculate symptom weights and provide preference values for the diagnosis results. The system is developed as a web-based application to enable wider accessibility, including for farmers in remote areas. The expected outcome of this research is a system that is accurate, user-friendly, and capable of improving the efficiency of chili plant disease management independently.
