Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of adding Saccharomyces boulardii in feed rations as a probiotic on blood fat in hybrid ducks. Saccharomyces boulardii is a type of probiotic yeast that is known to have benefits in improving intestinal balance, improving the immune system, and potentially modulating lipid metabolism. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications, each treatment consisting of 5 6-weekold hybrid ducks, so that the total number of ducks used was 20. Treatments included: P0 (control without probiotics), P1 (0.5 g), P2 (1.0 g), P3 (1.5 g) addition of Saccharomyces boulardii in feed. The parameters observed were blood fat in hybrid ducks, namely triglycerides, cholesterol, HDL, LDL. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), if the results had a significant effect (P <0.05). The research results showed that administering Saccaromyches boulardii did not significantly reduce triglyceride, LDL, HDL, and cholesterol levels. However, it did not significantly increase HDL levels in the blood of laying ducks. Based on this research, it can be concluded that administering the probiotic Saccharomyces boulardii does not have a negative impact on blood fat.
