Abstract

Poverty is a complex social problem that requires appropriate solutions. One of the goverment’sو effortsوtoو alleviateو povertyو isو through the Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance Program (BLT DD), which aims to help poor communities meet basic needs and reduce household expenditures. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the BLT DD Program in alleviating poverty in Pontang Village Ambulu District Jember Regency. The measurement of program effectiveness in this study uses four dimensions, program targeting accuracy, program socialization, program objectives, and program monitoring. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews and documentation. The research results show that the Village Fund Direct Cash program has been effective ini alleviating poverty in Pontang Village Ambulu District. This is based on the achievement of four dimensions of effectiveness targeting accuracy, socialization, objectives, and program monitoring. However, from the perspective of sustainable poverty alleviation, the effectiveness of BLT DD remains limited. Although there has been a decrease in the number of poor families in Pontang Village, the BLT DD contribution is more of a social protection measure to ease the burden of expenditure on the poor rather than a long term solution to structurally change poverty condition
