Abstract
Natural silk is an agro-industrial activities that have a long series of activities that include mulberry planting, silkworms rearing, cocoon production, cocoon processing, reeling, and silk weaving. This study aims to determine the effect of coneentration and soaking time of natural growth regulator extracted from shallot (Allium cepa L.) on the growth of roots and leaves on mulberry’s cuttings (Morus multicaulis). The research held at the land of annual fruits collection of Polytechnic of Jember for 3 months which conducted in October 2014 to January 2015. In order to increase the production of mulberry leaves, completely randomized block design (CRBD) factoial was applied. The first factor of treatment of natural plant growth regulator includes shallot extract with concentration K1 = 10%, K2 = 15% = 20% K3, K4 = 25%. The second factor was the soaking time which consist of W1 = 15 minutes = 30 minutes W2, W3 = 45 minutes.. The result of this research showed that the concentration of shallot extract growth regulator and the soaking time as well as their interaction had found giving non-significant effect on parameter of cutting survival rate, length of root, the number of roots, the number of leaves, wet weight of root, and wet weight of bud.
