Abstract

UMKM Tiga Permata in Tanggulangin Village Subdistrict of Tegalampel and Bondowoso Regency is home industry which producing various of crispy chips. It has some part of production process that are raw material processing, wok, packaging and marketing. Packaging is one of the part which needs work system improvement because reputed less ergonomic that causes pain to component of body and effecting employees productivity. The purpose of this work system improvement to decrease employees musculoskeletal complaint and improving work productivity. The recommendation of work system improvement is by moving the location from guest room to kitchen in order to minimize the distance and work facility more complete by increasing the planning of ergonomic chair and availability of the desk in location. The planning or work system improvement based on employees and unemployees anthropometry data (some dimension of body). This study uses survey method with purposive sampling and to test the difference between employees musculoskeletal complaint and work productivity using formula and statistic analyze of Paired t-test with SPSS program. The result of this study toward work system improvement for complaint level before the planning has value of 3,00 whereas after the planning has value 1,50, it means employees musculoskeletal complaint level after planning causes decreasing. Beside that, the utilization of the time for packaging the crispy chips per cycle more and more decrease as big as 15,50% and output that produced more and more increase as big as 100%, it means the productivity more and more increase.
