Abstract

An experient was carried to study the effect of feed restricted and metabolism energy at age 14 to 42 days on the appearance of layer quail. The experient used Completely Randomized Design. The treatment of restricted feeding and metabolic energy is P0R1: adlibitum (control) EM 2900 kcal/kg Protein 22 %, P0R2: adlibitum (control) EM 2800 kcal/kg Protein 23 %, P1R1: 90% of adlibitum EM 2900 kcal/kg Protein 22 %, P1R2: 90% of adlibitum EM 2800 kcal/ kg Protein 23 %, P2R1: 80% of adlibitum EM 2900 kcal/kg Protein 22 %, P2R2: 80% of adlibitum EM 2800 kcal/kg Protein 23 %, each treatment consists of 5 replicates consisting of 20 quail. Feed restricted were performance from the age of 14 days to the adult sex. Observations were made on the development of appearance during the growth period. The results showed that feed restricted had a very real effect (P <0.01) on feed consumption, body weight gain and feed convertion during the growth period. Feed restricted had a very real effect (P <0.01) on genital age but it did not affect (P >0,05) on body weight when ripe.
