Abstract

Thermoelectric refrigeration is based thermoelectric cooler utilizing peltier element, where two different sides when given voltage will produce a difference in temperature on both sides, this cold side used to the cooling process. This study aims to find out the cooling performance of thermoelectric coolers with some variations of DC electric voltage. The experiment was conducted in the laboratory of Renewble Energy Engineering Departement. The data taken were hot side temperature, cold side temperature, box temperature, water temperature, and ambient temperature with variations of DC electric voltage. Data analysis was carried out on box temperature, temperature difference, absorbed heat, and COP with some variations of DC electric voltage in 6-minute period.The results reveal thermoelectric cooler with in the voltage power supply of 12V temperature coldside is 13,80C, absorbed heat 30,40 Watt, COP 1,03. and in the voltage power supplay of 20V in 30-minute temperature coldside is 19,80C absorbed heat 29,46 Watt, and in the voltage Accu 12V in 60-minute temperature coldside is 14,80C, absorbed heat 27,12 Watt, COP 1,71. The best COP value at voltage 12V accu is 1,71.
