Abstract

This research was aim to determine the influence cut-off age of native chicken towards the proportion of meat and bones. Material that used in this research was 240 Native Chickens unsex with the average weight 38 grams in beginning. Animal feed used was commercial feed which contain 21% protein, and 3.000 kkal/kg metabolism energy. This research used Completely Randomized Design as design of experiment, with eight treatments and three repetitions. The treatment used were 55 days, 56 days , 57 days, 58 days, 59 days, 60 days, 61 days and 62 days. The result of the research showed that cut-off age different obviously (P<0,01) towards feed consumptions , weight increases, and profitability while cut-off age doesn’t different obviously (P>0,05) towards feed conversion and the proportion of meat and bones. The conclusion of this research was age of cut has no effect to feed conversion and carcass percentage, and the proportion of meat and bones was affected by cut-off age. The best cutting in of free-range chicken with good quality is at 55 days of age.
