Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the potential of seeds derived from the smellji varieties. The experiment was conducted at Jember Polytechnic Experimental Garden of Jember in January until April 2017. The treatment of bio- phosphate fertilizer consisted of A1 = 500 kg; A2 = 600 kg; A3 = 700 kg and J1 = spacing of 10 x 20 cm; J2 = spacing of 15 x 20 cm; J3 = spacing of 20 x 20 cm. The experimental design used was Factorial Random Block Design, with 9 treatment combinations and 3 replications. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaf, number of tillers, wet bulb weight, dry bulb weight and onion seed production / ha. The final result showed that the production of onion seed / ha showed that at 20 x 20 cm plant spacing with 10.5 tons / ha dry weight was obtained high production and followed by spacing of 15 x 20 cm with dry weight of 9.7 tons / ha . These results indicate that plant spacing of 20 x 20 and 15 x 20 can increase plant height, number of leaves and number of tillers as well as yield of wet weight and yield of dried tuber per sample.
