Abstract

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) one of the food commodities that have high carbohydrate content other than rice, corn and wheat. This makes potatoes an alternative priority of basic foodstuffs capable of substituting basic food needs of the community. However, the low quality of seedlings, seeds are still imported and the existence of the disease that is difficult to control proved that the lack of availability of seeds with superior quality that required the propagation of potato seeds with the use of tissue culture techniques. This research is aimed to study the success of shoot induction on culture callus. Potato by giving BAP on MS0 median. This research applied non factorial RAL which consists of one factor by using 3 levels, all treatment were repeated 6 times with 3 samples for each repetition, B 3 factor level is BAP 3 mg/L, 6 mg/L, 9 mg/L. the data was analysed by using ANOVA, then examined by using BNT 5% level. The results of this study showed that the treatment of ZPT BAP (B) gave a significant effect on root number parameter and very significant effect on root length parameter. The addition of BAP has no significant effect on root root (day), budding (bud), bud, shoot (cm), and number of sections.
