Abstract

Seed is an important factor of agriculturural production and an agent of change of technology in agriculture. PT. East West Seed Indonesia is the company seed vegetables which produce seed superior vegetables. One of the seeds produced is the seed of beans. The quality seed was the key to be achieved by the company in order to satisfy customer. Quality control of bean seed was conducted to get quality seed and as according to company’s standard. Quality control was conducted by using method of Statistical Process Control (SPC) as a mean to define goodness or not a process in improved quality of product and monitoring the process production with continually for minimize abnormalities unsuitable the standard. Based on the observation of the control chart X-bar and R on moisture content, it indicates that there is no data that out limit of control, so that can be said that the process there is in situation of statistical with value of Cp equal to 3,57. Based on the observation of the control chart X-bar and R on purity seed, it indicates that there is no data that out limit of control, so that it can be said that the process there is in situation of statistical with value of Cp equal to 9,8. Based on the observation of the control chart np on germination, it indicates that the process is under control because there is no data that out of limit of control, but on the observation of germination has a low Cp value of 0,92, so that it can be said that the process is not considered meet the standard’s company yet.
