Abstract

Currently, melon production continues to decline. This is because the availability of superior seeds is one of the factors in decreasing melon production in Indonesia. Fertilizer scarcity is also a problem for seed producers. Several companies are trying to find solutions to reduce production costs while maintaining seed quality. The use of NPK Mutiara fertilizers and leaves fertilizers are expected to be a solution to reduce the need for AB mix fertilizer which is difficult to obtain and has an expensive price. So that the price of seeds will not be expensive. This research used Randomized Block Design with 2 factors and 6 replications. The first factor consist of 2 levels: without NPK Mutiara fertilizer augmentation (P0) and adding NPK Mutiara (P1). The second factor consist of 2 levels: sprays interval once a week (I1) and sprays interval twice a week (I2). The result shows through the treatment of NPK mutiara fertilizer augmentation providing a large differences on flowering age parameters of 33 hst and on 1000 seeds weight parameter of 24.2 gram. On the other hand, the leaf fertilizer interval sprays did not provide big differences result. There were no any interaction among Mutiara fertilizer and leaf fertilizer interval sprays.
