Abstract

The improvement of soybean production in Indonesia can be solved by superior variety assembling with short age and potential of high yield characteristic. One of them is through genotype plant selection of crossing yield with pedigree method.The purpose of this research is to know genetic improvement of the 5th plant generation selection at some crossing yield genotypes. This research was held from July–September 2015 at trial field of State Polytechnic of Jember, Sumber Sari Regency, Jember District. Trial design that was used in this research was non factorial Randomized Block Design (RDB) with 13 genotypes, that consist of 4 parentals(1) Rajabasa, (2) Dering, (3) Polije-2, (4) Polije-3, 7 crossing yield genotypes RD, P2R, P2D, P2P3, P3R, P3D, P3P2 and 2 comparison varieties (1)Malabar, (2)Ringgit. The observation parameters are flowering age, plant hight, harvest age, total of pod, weight of 100 seeds, yield each plant, production each plot and yield per hectare.The research result showed that the yield component that have the high value of genetic improvement was 11 genotypesat plant hight characteristic: 16.13%. Selected genotypes at F5 plant withshort age and potential of high yield criteria were P3P2, P3D, P2D, P2P3, and P3R genotype. Even though the 5 crossing yield genotypes statistically showed not significant difference with the 2 parentals : Polije-2 and Polije-3 also Malabar variety.
