Abstract

Childbirth complications are life-threatening conditions due to mate rnal or fetal disorders as a direct result of pregnancy or childbirth . To decrease or suppress the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is quite high, with the risk of suppressing the number of labor or childbirth complications. The purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of childbirth complications at RSU dr . H. Koesnadi Bondowoso . The sample used in this study were 95 medical record file. Research instrument using the observation sheet and check list . This type of research is observational analytic study with case control and retrospective approach to data analysis using chi square test for bivariate analysis and logistic regression for multivariate analysis . The results showed that of the five variables associated with childbirth complications only age and antenatal affecting childbirth complications . Age ( OR = 18.162 , 95 % CI = 4.863 to 67.831 ) is the most dominant variable in the determinants of childbirth complications .
