Abstract

One way to increase production and seed quality of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is by clamping fruit treatment. This research aims to understand the production and seed quality of cucumber with different response of two varieties on clamping fruit treatmen .This research is conducted from August until December 2016. The study is done at August and December 2016. Experimental design that had been used is randomised block design (RBD) with 2 factors. The Factors are response of two varieties that consisted of KE025 (V1) and KE027 (V2) clamping fruit treatment, consisted of no clamping (P0) , clamping the upper trunk (P1), clamping the central (P2) , and clamping the lower end (P3). Parameter of the observation are growth of plant length, number of flower, fruit weight, fruit lenght, diameter of fruit, number of filled seed per fruit, the number of hollow seed per fruit, total number of seed, production of seeds per hectare, weight of 100 seeds, germination test, speed of growing, and keserempakan growing. The results of research shows that the best interaction of treatment is response of KE025 variety with clamping the upper trunk ( V1P1 ) produced the highest potential yield per hectare, that is 161,79 kg. Followed by interaction of KE027 variety with no clamping fruit treatment (V2P0) with the average number of hollow seeds per fruit is 280,67 seed.
