Abstract

The number of Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia is quite high for ASEAN region, that is 228 per 100,000 babies borned. The second highest number of MMR in Indonesia is located in East Java, with value of 642 cases of maternal mortality. The high value of MMR should be reduced step by step by giving earlier provision to the mother. This research was conducted at health center of Tulangan Sidoarjo. The type of this research is qualitative data with purpose to make a reminder application which can provide information to the pregnant women. The output of this research is a reminder application based on SMS gateway which can monitor the progress of pregnant women by providing control information and reminders to pregnant women. The goals of this research is expected to be applied at Tulangan Sidoarjo health center as the tools that will be useful for pregnant women to keep monitoring the progress of the pregnancy so it can reduce the risks of Maternal Mortality.
