Abstract
Cucumber is a very popular type of vegetable and is known in almost every country. Efforts to increase cucumber production are needed. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of harvesting age and fruit ripening time on the quality of hybrid cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seeds. This study used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is the difference in harvest age which consists of 3 levels, namely 60 days after planting (DAP), 65 DAP, and 70 DAP. The second factor was the ripening time which consisted of 3 levels, namely 0 days, 3 days, and 5 days. The parameters consist of moisture content, weight of 1000 grains, germination of seeds, speed of seed growth, and simultaneous growth of seeds. Harvest age has a very significant effect on all parameters. The duration of curing had a very significant effect on the weight of 1000 grains and the growth rate and had a significant effect on the parameters of germination and moisture content. The interaction of the effect of differences in harvesting age and fruit ripening time on the quality of cucumber (C. sativus L.) seeds and the best results were found in the treatment of harvest age 65 DAS and ripening 3 days, with an average weight of each parameter of 1000 grains 26.33 gr, power Sprouts 82.67%, simultaneously grew 34% and the speed grew 27.48%/etmal.
