Abstract

The purpose of the research are to determine the exhaust emissions generated by increasing heater on the intake manifold. This type of research is experimental, object of research is Honda Supra X125 motorcycle and heating the mixture of air and fuel. This research use diameter copper wire the variation are 1.5 mm, 2 mm, and 2.5 mm, this variation will be tested in idle engine rotation. Gas Analyzer T161D Didacta Italia used to analysis the gas emission. The use of heating can also reduce emissions of CO2, HC, O2, CO and increase emissions. Decrease lowest CO2 obtained at diameter copper wire 1.5 mm of 2.97%Vol, the lowest reduction in HC obtained at diameter copper wire 1.5 mm of 288 ppm, the lowest reduction in O2 obtained at diameter copper wire 1.5 mm of 15.77%Vol, and the highest increase in CO obtained at diameter copper wire 1.5 mm of 0.96%Vol.
