Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical region that has potential to become endemic areas of some infectious diseases that could be a threat for public health. Prevention efforts have been made to prevent transmission of diseasess as not to be susceptible, but diseases could come suddenly and unexpectedly as well ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection). This research aims to analyze of ARI disease causing factors in Community Health Centre of Gumukmas, Jember District. The type of the research is descriptive-qualitative. Community Health Centre of Gumukmas has program for eradicate ARI disease such as counseling. Counseling is held integratedly with other diseases such as TB, Leprosy, Diarrhea and held routinely 10 times a year. Community Health Centre of Gumukmas make early discovery of ARI patients at the time of counseling, mobile health centers and integrated service post. Treatment provided by Community Health Centre of Gumukmas to ARI patients has been given completely, such as antibiotics (amoxilin), vitamin c, demacolin. Recording and Reporting of ARI is routinely done every week and every month will be reported to the Health Office every month on 5th. Based on the result, the highest causing factor of ARI in Community Health Centre of Gumukmas is the existence of smoker that is as many as 43 people (51.8%). Therefore, efforts to increase public awareness of ARI dangers is should be held the counseling of ARI every month and the counseling about the dangers of smoking more often.
