Abstract

This study aims to identifiy qualitative and quantitative character of some rice seed varieties (Oryza satival L.) produced by seed breeders. This research was conducted for 5 months, from November 2018 to March 2019 in Kranjingan Village, Ajung District, Jember Regency. This study was applied non factorial Randomize Block Design (RAK) with 1 factor and 3 replications. The varieties used were Ciherang (V1), Mekongga (V2), Sintanur (V3), Inpari 42 (V4), Inpari 32 (V5), Inpari 33 (V6), Situbagendit (V7) and Cibogo (V8). The result of this study show that all varieties were suitable with the description qualitatively. Whereas varieties was significant for parameter number of empty grain per panicle and very significant for parameters plant height 30 HST, plant height 67 HST, plant height 93 HST, panicle length, number of grain per panicle, number of filled out seed and weight of 1000 seeds quantitatively. Sintanur varieties provide the best results on production per hectare
