Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of pollination time and proportion of male-female flowers toward production of hybrid butternut squash seed. this research was conducted in September to December 2018. It was applied Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The first factor was time pollination consisted 2 levels, there are 07.00-08.00 WIB (W1) and 09.00-10.00 WIB (W2). The second factor was proportion of male-female flowers consisted 3 levels, there are proportion of female flower 1 : 1 male (P1), proportion of female flower 2 : 1 male (P2), and proportion of female flower 3 : 1 male (P3). The result of this research shows that time pollination is non significant on weight of fruit per plant, number of seed per plant, weight of seed per plant and weight of 1000 seeds. Proportion of female flower 1 : 1 male (P1) is significant on number of seed per plant. The proper interaction for pollination is time of 07.00-08.00 WIB by proportion of female-male flowers of 1:1 (W1P1)
