Abstract

Sugar cane is one of the important communities producing sugar, but the sugar industry can not able to provide the needs of sugar in the country. The gap of sugarcane production between the production potential and the yield is thought to be a result of the fertilizers use is not according to the SOP, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of optimal dosage and administration on the growth of sugarcane plants (Saccharum officinarum L) Variety PS 862. This study used nonfactorial RCBD with dosage cow dung (Fermentation) with 4 treatments, treatment P1 control, P2 1kg, P3 1.5kg, and P4 2kg. The observation data were analyzed by analysis of variance/ ANOVA using the F test at a confidence level of 5% and 1% to determine whether there was an influence of the treatment carried out. If there was an influence of the treatment, then proceed with the polynomial contrast test. Based on the results of the study showed the dosage of Fermented cow dung (granules) significantly affected the initial growth of sugar cane to character the number of leaves and number of tillers. Not significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, root length, wet weight, and dry weight of plants up to 120 days of age and granule dose of 1.96 kg optimal effect on number of leaves aged 64, 78 days and granule dose of 1.22 kg optimal effect on sugar cane tillers is reached at the age of 120 days
