Abstract

This study aims to know the controlling of raw raw materials inventory according to production cycle that had been implemented on the company and controlling of raw materials inventory using economic order quantity method. The problem on the company was too often make purchases of raw materials and that made inventory cost was also increased. In the other side, the compane had no safety inventory and not implemented reoder point which can engender run out inventory or not get raw materials. This study was use economic order quantuty method (EOQ) by using 5 analysis technique there were moving average method, optimum purchse ( eoq) ,safety inventory, reorder point, and total inventory cost. The data used were purchase data and utilization of soybean in period 2016- 2017. The results of the study evidence that the company purchased raw materials of 177.000 kg (2016) and 178.500 kg (2017) with purchased raw materials of 5.000 kg for one time purchased so the frequency of purchases were 36 times in a year. Meanwhile if using EOQ methode, the frequency of purchases were 22-23 times in a year. Total Inventory Cost (TIC) according to the EOQ method was more efficient, so that the company may consider the use EOQ method in raw materials inventory control.
