Abstract

Malnutrition in adults (aged 18 years and above) is an important issue, because in addition to having the risk of certain diseases, it can also affect work productivity. Therefore, monitoring the situation needs to be done on an ongoing basis. One way is to maintain ideal body weight or normal. Nutritional status is a description of balance between nutrient intake with the body's needs individually. Basically, nutritional status is influenced by many factors such as food intake, parental education, parental income, and the awareness of parents about the importance of nutrition problems, but it would be but the dominant factor is the factor of food consumption. Anthropometry is one method that can be used universally, not costly to measure the size, parts, and the composition of the human body. Anthropometry is important to public health and can affect the health and social welfare. In addition, the application of anthropometry can be used to assess the status of growth, nutritional status and obesity, sport, engineering and elderly.
