Diabetes Mellitus is one of the diseases associated with metabolic abnormalities that lead to elevated levels of glucose. Risk factors that affect the occurrence of diabetes mellitus include genetic factors. Diabetics from the beginning of 2007 until now still high. Especially in Bae village as much as 23% (89 cases). This research was to analyze relationship between the genetic and Diabetes Mellitus. Type of research used correlational analytics with case control design. Data collection using questionnaires and medical records. Data analysis technique used chi square statistic test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between genetic factors and Diabetes Mellitus (p = 0,000, x2 count = 72.054; OR = 386,400; 95% CI = 43,357-3443,605). A person who has a family history of diabetes mellitus may increase the risk of Diabetes Mellitus by 386-fold compared to people who do not have a history of Diabetes Mellitus.
