Abstract

Balung Regional General Hospital uses the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) to process patient data. There are several problems found during the use of HMIS in the hospital, namely the information produced is less accurate, so it does not meet the needs of users and there are still 8 double numbers of medical records carried out from October 29 - October 05, 2024. The purpose of this research is to evaluate HMIS at Balung General Hospital using the PIECES method. The type of research used is qualitative with data collection methods, namely in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and discussion. The research subjects consisted of six outpatient registration officers, the head of medical records, and the head of the HMIS unit. The results showed that based on the performance aspect of HMIS performance, there was still duplication of medical record numbers. The information aspect of HMIS still requires repeated checking of reports by officers. Economic aspect, there is no funding for system maintenance and development. Control aspect, HMIS security level is not good. Efficiency aspect, the ease of use of the system is less affordable because there is still no guidebook to facilitate officers in operating HMIS. Service aspect, HMIS has not been fully relied upon in the work process. Alternative problem solving by improving HMIS, holding a guidebook, and procuring budget funds for HMIS development.
