Abstract

This research is driven by the insufficient participation of farmer groups in agricultural extension activities. The objective of this study is to assess the impact of the extension agent's role within farmer development groups in Paleran Village, Umbulsari District, Jember Regency. The population for this study consists of members of farmer groups in Paleran Village, with a sample size of 45 respondents. The analytical method employed is multiple linear regression, utilizing IBM SPSS 25 for Windows. The findings reveal that the roles of extension agents as advisors, initiators, technicians, and mediators collectively have a significant effect on the development of farmer groups. Specifically, the roles of extension agents as advisors and mediators significantly influence on development of the farmer group in Paleran Village Umbulsari District Jember Regency, while the roles of extension agents as initiators and technicians don’t have significant effect on the development of farmer groups in Paleran Village, Umbulsari District, Jember Regency.
