Abstract

Face recognition systems have attracted considerable interest due to their extensive applications in security, surveillance, access control and personalization. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the design and implementation of a face recognition system, including key components such as face recognition, feature extraction, recognition algorithms, database management and system integration. Various techniques are being explored for robust facial detection and feature representation. In addition, the considerations of database design, storage and recovery strategies are discussed, focusing on MySQL database integration. The implementation of the face recognition system includes the development of software modules for image preprocessing, functional extraction, classification, and the creation of user-friendly interfaces for system interaction. In addition, ethical considerations related to data privacy, security and implementation are addressed throughout the design process. The document concludes with discussions on future research directions and the potential impact of face recognition systems on society.
