Abstract
Ducks are one of the poultry commodities that is in great demand by breeders, as producers of eggs and meat. Duck breeders generally operate in the field of salting eggs. The main problem in salting duck eggs is cleaning the raw eggs which is done manually and one by one. Cleaning raw eggs is done twice, first before the eggs are salted and after the eggs are salted. Based on these problems, this research aims to design an automatic Duck Egg Washing Machine which is a tool designed to be more efficient, practical and economical so that the egg cleaning process can be easier and faster. So that the egg washing process gets clean and quality results. In the process of washing duck eggs using a brush that has been modified with a 10mm diameter stainless steel shaft with a stainless steel shaft length of 90cm and a brush length of 80cm. A water pump is needed as a pump to drain water and direct it to the outlet, namely to the egg container during the egg washing process. The movement of the brush rotation speed is operated by a 220 volt single-phase AC motor connected to a pulley and v-belt. The data acquisition stage in this research, this automatic duck egg washing machine uses an expert validation questionnaire instrument through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and a combination of the three to obtain a feasibility value for the tool being developed. The results of the feasibility test analysis through the design expert validation questionnaire obtained a total percentage of 90.6%. Based on percentage criteria, the validation questionnaire is said to be successful if the total percentage is ≥ 61% which indicates the criteria are "good enough".
