Abstract

Coffee is one of the crops that can be relied on as a plantation that can increase the country’s foreign exchange. Indonesia is one of the main export countries, namely coffee and is in 4th place after Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia. One of the factors that influences the productivity of coffee berries is plant pest organismssuch as the Coffee Berry Borer which is the main pest that damages coffee berries. Control of coffee berry borer pest can be done mechanically and chemically using attractant traps. One method that can be used as a PBKo pest is by exploiting its biological characteristics such as the pest’s attraction to the color and time of activity of the pest. This research ai m to determine the effect of using color and time in attractant traps to control Coffee Berry Borer pest attacks. This research used a Randomized block design with 2 factors, namely 4 treatments using the colors P1 (red), P2 (yellow), P3 Green, P4 (blue) and 2 treatments of trap placement time W1 (morning placement time) and W2 (afternoon laying time) to obtain 8 treatment combinations and 3 replications. Data were analyzed using the BNT test at 5% level. The results of the research showed that the treatment using yellow when placing traps in the morning had the best effect with a total of 25 pests trapped. So that this treatment has an effect on controlling PBKo pests on the parameter of the number of PBKo pests trapped.
